Concerts with the Brucknerorchestra Linz and baritone Matthias Goerne

David Afkham conducts Hugo Wolf and Richard Strauss with the Brucknerorchestra Linz on December 20 at the Landestheater Linz and December 21 at the Großer Musikvereinssaal in Vienna. Featuring lauded baritone Matthias Goerne, the program features several of Wolf’s symphonic lieder, with texts by Goethe and Mörike. Afkham will also lead the Alpine Symphony (Alpensinfonie), Op. 64, Strauss’ evocative and ambitious tone poem.
