David Afkham to replace Lahav Shani in Cleveland

Today, The Cleveland Orchestra announced a guest conductor update for the concerts on
April 26, 27, and 28. David Afkham has graciously agreed to step in for Lahav Shani and will now conduct
The Cleveland Orchestra and pianist Beatrice Rana in Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto and works
by Unsuk Chin and Béla Bartók. Shani is very grateful to The Cleveland Orchestra for agreeing to release
him from his engagement at the end of April so that he can be at home in Berlin for the birth of his first
child.
