On July 22, David Afkham takes the baton to lead the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the esteemed Tanglewood Festival. The enchanting program will feature Wagner’s moving Siegfried Idyll and Mozart’s magnificent Piano Concerto No. 25 in C, K.503, with the talented pianist Martin Helmchen. Following the intermission, the orchestra will perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 in C major, also known as “Jupiter”, the composer’s longest and final symphony. Gates open at 5:30 pm, and the performance will commence at 8 pm.
