On February 14, 15, and 16, David Afkham brings his “considerable interpretive insight” (Chicago Tribune)back to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, leading a sweeping program of Richard Wagner, Jean Sibelius, and Arnold Schönberg.

Violinist Christian Tetzlaff headlines the concert, acting as soloist for Sebelius’ deeply expressive and technically demanding work Violin Concerto. The program also includes Schönberg’s romantic symphonic poem, Pelleas und Melisande, Op. 5, and Wagner’s triumphant Prelude to Act 3 of Lohengrin.
